Technique:

The donor site (for example, abdomen, buttocks or thighs) and the treatment site are injected with local anaesthetic to numb the area. Fat cells are extracted through a small needle attached to a syringe after injecting an Intravenous (IV) fluid also into the donor site to facilitate fat collection. The fat is then processed to remove excess fluids and it is reinjected with another needle in multiple thin strands in the desired area. Fat also can be collected during a lipoplasty (liposuction) procedure in one area of the body, and then reinjected in another.

Breast reduction

Breast reduction also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a plastic surgical procedure that reduces the size of overly large breasts. Overly large breasts can cause health issues, physical pain, discomfort as well as challenges with regards to self-image.

Breast reduction surgery eliminates excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size that is proportionate to your body. The procedure is designed to relieve the discomfort associated with overly large breasts.

Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation also known as augmentation mammoplasty can be a cosmetic surgery or a reconstructive procedure, depending on the circumstances. What plastic surgery procedures are common for mummy makeovers?

Liposuction

Liposuction is also known as “lipo.” It is a cosmetic surgery that is performed to slim and reshape specific areas of the body by reducing and removing excess fat deposits. Liposuction can be used by a skilled cosmetic surgeon to improve a patient’s body contours and proportions. Liposuction techniques are often used on: thighs, hips, buttock, abdomen, upper arms, and lower legs, back, around the knee, chest, chin and neck.

A vital component for a successful liposuction procedure is consistent exercise both before and after the surgery. Exercise will ensure that you maintain the results of the surgery.

Liposculpture

Liposculpture is a more advanced cosmetic surgery while in the same cosmetic family as liposuction. It is designed to perform more excessive contouring through the removal and reshaping of fat deposits in the body. It is performed to enhance the definition of muscles and remove fat from problem areas, such as the stomach, neck, and chin.

These procedures can be performed as day surgeries. However, patients are welcomed to stay overnight in the hospital if they wish to. The quick recovery time of the procedure allows patients to go back to work within 2-3 days post-surgery. However, this may be subjective to the individual.

Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty which is also known as ‘tummy tuck’ a surgery that is designed to tighten muscles that become loose or split following pregnancy, or to remove excess fat and sagging skin from the middle and lower abdomen after massive weight loss. The result is a flatter, firmer and toned abdomen.

While abdominoplasty can be a cosmetic procedure, it may also be partly a reconstructive surgery that is necessary to restore weakened or separated muscles, to repair an abdominal hernia, improve bladder function and remove a large apron of fat, also called a pannus. A firmer and smoother abdominal profile is achieved in all of the above instances by removing the excess skin and changing the shape and tone of the abdomen.

Abdominoplasty is not an alternate for weight loss or exercise. It may be possible to achieve a flatter stomach without surgery, through healthy eating plans and exercise. However, there are instances when natural weight loss does not allow to achieve these results. In such occasions, abdominoplasty is an ideal option.

It is important to note that many plastic surgeons advise to work towards achieving the desired body shape through exercise and dieting as an initial step and to follow it up with surgery if necessary.

Full abdominoplasty – which is performed to removes excess skin and tightens underlying muscles across the whole abdominal area, including around the navel
